Sri Lanka - A land like no other!

Sri Lanka, what a place to visit! Wow! Been here once before, but had only spent a few days in Colombo and Candy. I must mention here that the people of Srilanka were so very sweet, so helpful and always had this ready smile on their faces.

The best part of the trip was the elephant orphanage at Pinnavala, there are two elephant orphanages at this place, though I spent time visiting both, I absolutely loved visiting the smaller one, where we could bathe the elephants, ride and also feed them! Now that was amazing. The scenic beauty here is indescribable, the stunning greenery, noise free atmosphere, it’s simply beautiful. Well, when I say noise free atmosphere, it is almost - except for the calming sounds of chirping birds, flowing waters, elephants splashing water, and the likes.

This time around I have Anuradhapura on my itinerary; this ancient city is termed as the ‘birthplace of the Sinhala civilization’ and has some of the oldest historic sites that are worth a visit. Also on the must visit list are the ‘Ramayana’ sites in the central region.

Macho Picchu

Have you heard of this place??? Well it is a world heritage site located in Urubamba valley, Peru, South America. Machu Picchu is referred to as the ‘lost city of the Incas.’

The way the place was built, the skill, the planning and everything else involved in carving out these structures on this mountain remains a mystery. Even the reasons behind the abandonment of the place just after 100 years of building it are shrouded in mystery. Many theories though are in circulation.

Moscow Mania!!

Moscow - seen enough of it on TV now i wanna see it for myself. Moscow looks to be one attractive place especially as it has been inaccessible so far.

What's hot about moscow is the architechture, the buildings, churches and all the scenic settings.

So much to see in moscow, glad that travelling to this historic city has been simplified.

A boat ride with the kremlin in the background seems to be just the thing to do while here.

The Enigmatic Nanda Devi

I want to visit the Nanda Devi mountain region and ofcourse set my eyes on the mighty mountain, especially because of the stunning beauty surrounding it. As a tourist, I would like to go on the "Nanda Devi Sanctuary Trek, watch the flora and fauna there, experience inner peace and feel humbled by the mighty Nanda Devi , the daughter of Himalayas. Considered as very sacred it is believed to be the abode of Goddess Nanda Devi, the consort of Lord Shiva. Nanda Devi literally means the bliss-giving goddess.

Destination Himalayas!

Most of us who like to travel dream of himalayas as a one destination to unravel mysteries, find peace, seek God, and find answers to so many complicated questions. So here I start with what I would like to visit there. Then I will be updating visitors on the various places I want to experience. I would like to list all the wonderful places I have visited so far as well. That is still under compilation.
